Ganutell creations are delicate and different, come in a variety of colors, shapes and designs. A true and probably forgotten artform from the island country of Malta, used to decorate churches and religious statues. Apparently, these beauties go as far back in Maltese history as the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. However it is a craft that fell away in the twenth century with only a few mastering the various ganutell techniques, which had traditionally been passed down from generation to generation by word of mouth.
