A Touch of Glam & Culture: African Inspired

Inspired by her cousin's Ugandan wedding, this styled shoot from Lauren Niles of K & B Events, captured by Aaron Haslinger Photography, is full of rich colors, stylish details, and tribal fashion trends. Having assembled a top notch team, Lauren says: I wanted to create something vibrant in the middle of a very natural location. I was inspired by the headpieces, the colors, the involvement of the bridal party, the jewels, the gown changes, and the natural elements that made this wedding different than any I had ever seen before.

We wanted to create an editorial style shoot that brought the latest tribal trends in fashion to the wedding scene. The results were daring and fresh. While this shoot is definitely an exaggerated take on a fashion trend, I think REAL weddings can be inspired by its fun color scheme, amazing stationery, and willingness to take risks in pulling fashion trends into bridal. A touch rustic, a touch boho, and most certainly cultural and fashionable, every couple can find a hint of unique inspiration.

I love the use of texture and traditional patterns as well as natural elements - metal and wood, flowers and feathers, to add visual dimension and interest. Everywhere you look, there is a surprise tucked away in a corner or peeking out from under the moss. Pay particular attention to the small details for they helped transform Lauren's inspiration into a fresh, fashion forward African inspired wedding theme.
