Free Printable Favor Card: Wildflower Paper + Guest Post on Marry This!

Happy Thursday lovelies! Great stuff for you today...a guest post on Marry This! and their Charity Wedding Favor series, a super easy DIY plantable wildflower paper AND a free printable from yours truly to go with the guest post. We are TOTALLY mixing it up here today.

You know de Lovely Affair is all about helping you create practical, crafty and personal weddings - we cover everything from creative invitation design and easy decor projects to cost cutting ideas from flowers to food, and simple steps to make your wedding dream a reality. We love anything recycled, reused, and of course, green, which is why I was so excited when Allison over at Marry This asked me to write an article about Charity Favors with a DIY giveaway. Perfect opportunity to plug our love of eco-conscious, value based wedding planning.

Our idea: Saving the Amazon Rainforest in Brazil is a valuable and worthy cause, and through the Nature Conservancy, you can help regrow this vibrant, lush biosphere with their Plant a Billion Trees campaign. You can help with as little as $50 to buy 50 trees. BUT you really should read the whole article over at Marry This!

What better way to celebrate renew the earth than by planting something beautiful? So for the wedding favor giveaway, I handcrafted these super lovely Plantable Wildflower Seed favors (tutorial at Marry This) and the accompanying favor card for you to print and use with your own favors! Grab your customizable Free Printable Favor Card. Send me an email and I'll send you the customizable printable; it is in MS Word and the font is TG April Trial. One fits per 8.5 x10 sheet; I recommend a white or cream card stock. Print, cut, and present!

As I wrote for Marry This, a green wedding isn’t just about going cheap; it's about making smart money saving choices, which is why DIY projects and Free Printables are right up my alley! I'd love to see your final product, so if you decide to follow my plantable paper tutorial, send a couple pictures our way.

Happy Planning, Happy Crafting,

{Color Inspiration} Pretty Pink & Grass Green Wedding Palette -

Preppy Palette

Did you see Monday's gorgeous Real Wedding? I was so inspired by Angel's color choices, I just had to put together a Color Inspiration Board for you! A Pink and Green wedding palette is fresh, clean and romantic; it feels light and airy, and full of promise! From soft, sweet blush pink to almost festive fuchsia, from light sage green to a deep pine, there are so many shade combinations that all work well together for any type of wedding.

Once considered "preppy", these colors have most transitioned in mainstream wedding popularity!  A perfect choice for a late spring, early summer wedding, this duo palette makes me want to eat some cotton candy and sip a Grasshopper drink! Who is with me?

What other great color combo do you think is super popular these days? Passing fad or here to stay?

Check out this and other Color Inspiration Boards over at Pinterest! So many great inspiration images to share there, we'd love it if you'd follow us.

Have a colorful day,

{Thrifty Thursday} Recycled Jars for Centerpieces & Decor

Today's thrift - Recycled Jars for Centerpieces and Decor - is inspired for my own personal search to cheap, chic centerpiece and decor options that were also all about reusing and recycling.  My goal: hunt for as many glass jars as possible, didn't matter the size, the shape, the height. I even went so far as to buy glass jarred items at the store, force my husband to be to eat them and then carefully wash and store my precious finds. I had my family, friends, co-workers scouring their fridges, recycling bins, the pantries for jars, jars, and more jars...pickle jars, peanut butter jars, those round, fat jam jars, Mason jars.  Fruit jars? We got 'em and Mr. deLovely will never eat fruit from a jar again.  Our house was over flowing with jars but the visual is so worth it!

Here are some fab inspiration photos for you here on Thrifty Thursday where we encourage all things Thrift! Recycling and reusing is great practical wedding planning; going green for your wedding is good for your wallet and the world.

I can spot a peanut butter jar a mile away.  This bride spent an entire year collecting one hundred jars!

Check out thrift stores and yard sales for old vases; they work just as well and can add a whole other layer of texture and dimension.

I love LOVE this next picture with all the old medicine bottles and slightly colored glass....ok I admit is, I am a bottle-aholic and the only reason I wrote this post was to look at beautiful glass legally.

Seriously one of my all time favorite uses of old recycled bottles - a modern retro Coca-Cola inspired wedding theme...BRILLIANT!  Of course, I'm smitten with the blue and red color palette, which I chose for my wedding.

I think yellow billy balls are the cutest flower ever! They work so well in any wedding setting.

Last one - Enjoy your search, nothing is out of bounds on this Thrifty Thursday, think beyond what you see and into what can be...wow just made that up....super cool!

You may have to start your search early in order to gather enough...this is not a new concept but done right, it never goes out of style.  Let the search begin!

Are you considering a multi bottle centerpiece? Let's us know, we'd love to show it off here on de Lovely Affair! Check out our collection of awesome recycled bottles on PINTEREST. Would you kindly follow us as well?

Have a deLightful day,
